- Make sure that your computer system is connected to the internet connection. In order to have access to the router’s page, you need to be connected to the Internet.
- If you are having trouble while connecting it to the wireless connection then try connecting directly to the router.
- Go to web browser. Enter the TP link router’s address in the browser’s address bar to have access on your router’s page.
- Type 192.168.1.1 into the browser’s address bar. It is the default IP address of your TP link router. The same address is for the router’s web interface.
- Check out the user manual to know the default IP address if the above address seems incorrect.
- Type the router’s username and password. Both, the username as well as password are admin if you still haven’t changed them from the factory settings.
- In other case, where you have changed them but do not remember them anymore, then you have to reset your router settings before you proceed.
- Click on the second tap at the top of the page on your screen i.e. interface setup.
- Now click on the wireless. It is below the main tabs on the top of the page.

- Click on the Security (Brodcom modem only). It's below "Wireless" in the sidebar menu to the left.
- Select "WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK Mixed Mode" or "WPA2-PSK (best)". Using the drop-down menu next to "Authentication Type" or "Network authentication" to select "WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK (Mixed Mode)" or "WPA2-PSK (best)", depending on which modem model you have.
- On the other hand, you can choose WEP but it isn’t as secure as the other one is.
- Type your new wireless password. It is placed in the field next to "Pre-shared key" in the box named "WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK Mixed Mode".
- In case if you are using WEP, type your password next to key 1.
- At the bottom of the page, click on save or apply/save.
