How to Change SSID for D-Link Routers

I just got a new laptop and bought a D-Link Wireless router and hooked it up properly. I got on my laptop and searched for connections, but when I found the router's connection, there was an X on it and it read "The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network." Please help me. I really want to get on the internet.

Change SSID for D-Link Routers:

To change Dlink router’s SSID, you need to follow these steps -

  • First of all, open your web browser and type “192.168.0.1” in the address bar.
  • Press Enter key and you are redirected towards Dlink webpage where you have to enter login credentials i.e., username and password.

  • Type “admin” in the username field and leave the Password field blank. After this hit Login.
  • Now, you are redirected towards configuration page where you have to click on “Wireless Settings” that you will see on the left side.

  • After this, tap on Manual Wireless Network Setup.

  • Next, move to SSID field and type a new SSID value.

  • At last, save your settings.

By applying settings, I hope you will understand how to change Dlink router’s SSID.

Change SSID for D-Link Routers:

Now the routers become necessity of our life allows freedom to users through which SSID are more-friendly name to all your computer devices that are able to connect with your d-link router. Thus get your browse which avails the networks. In the given list this displays SSID router connectivity.

Now you can easily change SSID to customize the wireless network d-link router settings.

Step-1:  Firstly launch your new web browser and type 192.168.1.1 in the given navigation box and hit enter.

Step-2:  Type admin to both the username as well as password fields respectively. These are the default credentials at the time of purchase your D-Link router. If you want to install your d-link router then click to login windows and hit enter.

Step-3: At the top of the application select and click on setup tab. There which is marked as Wireless network name and type SSID in the given blank field?

Step-4:  Now type another new password in the passphrase and retype in another confirm passphrase field. If it requires t change the router's password for its router connectivity only for that purpose.

Step-5: After changing the SSID name click to save your router settings. Your router device gets reboot and it indicates the new name for SSID to our wireless router users.
