How to Reset TP-Link ADSL Modem Router to Factory Defaults ?

Reset TP-Link ADSL Modem Router:

Whenever we factory reset a device, it goes back to the default settings, which means all the settings saved so far will get erased. Don't perform a hard reset till the moment you are not ready with the backup of your settings. Mentioned below are some of the solutions that you can apply to reset TP-Link ADSL modem router. 

Method 1: Hard Reset Your TP-Link ADSL Modem

After turning on your router, press the reset button that is given at the rear panel and keep on holding it for the next 10 seconds. After that, leave the reset button and then wait for sometime so the device can restart automatically and return to factory default settings. 

Method 2: Use the Web Based Facility of ADSL Router 

a) Broadband Solution

Use the factory default function once you land on the management page. All you have to do is to first go to Management and then move to the restore defaults page. After that, go ahead and check the Restore Default Settings. Then, wait for sometime for the router to return to the factory default settings. 

b) TC Solution 

First you need to go to Maintenance and then move to the page of Sysrestart. Then, go to the factory default settings. At last, click on the router button and then wait for the router to restart and return to factory default mode. 

How to Factory Reset Using the Web Interface?

Step 1: Launch your internet browser and enter the default IP address in the location bar of the browser. Then, press Enter. 

Step 2: Enter the username and password. Now, select login.

Step 3: Select the tab of tools placed at the top. 

Step 4: Click on the button of Restore to factory reset the router. 

Points to Remember

  • Please ensure that the router is turned on before it reboots completely.
  • Both default username and password are admin. Also, the default IP address is 192.168.1.1. 
  • Please make sure that the IP address of your PC is within the same subnet of your device. Select the option of System Commands given on the left side.
