I have the problem of no connection when my new Netgear WNR834B router is connected to my new Dell laptop. I can connect directly to my insight cable broadband connection via ethernet from the laptop to the Motorola cable modem, but when I go through the steps to install the router, it continues to say, "no connection," and then instructs me to check the physical connections, which I've tried at multiple times.

Step1.First of all, you need to check the connection of devices. Make sure ethernet/USB cable is properly connected to Netgear router, modem, and your computer. If the ethernet cable is not in working condition or it is torn/frayed then immediately replace it with the new one.
Step2.Also, refresh your cable connection by power cycling your network.

Step1: First connect the internet through your modem by connecting the cable to your Dell laptop.Once the browsing starts properly with the static IP address.
Step2: Insert the CD which came along with the Netgear wireless router. Follow the steps which come in the default pages that appear instantly.Do not remove the cable from the laptop at that point in time.
Step3: After the process is over change the cable of the router to the WAN port of the Netgear wireless router and then check whether you are getting the wireless LAN to your laptop. If it displays the connecting to wireless LAN then check for the internet browsing on it.
I hope this will help you.
