Secure TP-Link WiFi Extender

Securing a TP link wifi extender is quite beneficial. You will need a web browser and IaddrePadresg to go into the configuration page first. Later, you can complete the process by managing settings and enabling the wireless security option. Selecting the right security type, security option, and encryption and entering the password in the "PSK passphrase" box play a major role.

Save all the changes to apply to your settings, and you can protect the TP-link extender from potential threats. Some of the benefits of security of the link wifi extender are enhanced security, protection against all potential threats, better and extended coverage, and ease with mesh systems usage.

Best Steps For Securing TP-Link Wireless Extender

  • Open the web browser and type the IP address of the access point/ extender.
  • (Default is 192.168.1.1/192.168.1.254/192.168.0.254) into the address bar and then Press Enter.
  • Type the username and password into the boxes on the login page, the default username and password will be the admin for both cases

Now Login To TP-Link Router Configuration Page

  • Now go to administration settings and change the password there.
  • The next step would be changing the SSID for your tp-link extender.
  • Choose the SSID name and click on “connect”.

Security Settings

  •  Enable “Enable Wireless Security” and configure the security settings:
  • Security Type: WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK
  • Security Option: WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK
  • Encryption: TKIP or AES
  • PSK Passphrase: Type your password/passphrase into the box

Click on the “save” button to apply your settings. In case you want to insure or protect your TP-Link extender from hackers, enable the inbuilt firewall. Your TP wireless extender is secured now.
