Most important points that you need to understand before you set up the Belkin Router as an Access Point.

These are, you must connect your personal computer to the router that will help you in configuring the access point, all the ethernet wire that you are using must be connected or plugged into any parts from 1-4.

Also check if your internet connection is working or not and then from here you can finally follow the steps like launching an internet browser then configuring wireless network and wireless settings. Now setting up the Belkin router as an access point and enabling it.

Then putting in an IP address and clicking on apply button then finally setting up the Belkin router as an access point by linking your wireless device to the new connection.

Before you start the process, these are some of the things that you need to take care of.

  • You must connect your personal computer to the router that will help you ijn configuring the access point. Please ensure that your computer is turned on. When you connect the ethernet wire to the router, then the LED will start flashing.
  • If you configure Belkin router as access point, then in that case there is no need for you to use the internet port of the router. All the ethernet wires that you are using must get plugged into any ports from 1-4.
  • Also, you need to check that your internet connection is working. Or else you must get in touch with your ISP i.e., internet service provider.

Here are some of the steps that you need to follow for setting up the router as access point.

There are Two Methods to Setup Belkin Router as Access Point

To configure the security of your network, first, go to the wireless ad then move to security. Please ensure that you save the settings before going forward with the next step.

Step 3: After configuring the wireless settings.

Step 4: After that to setup Belkin router as access point, click on enable. This will give you the freedom to create an IP address of the router. After that, moveto the wireless section. After that, select use as access point. and click on it. The changes that you make in your settings should match the current settings of the router.

Step 5: Put-in an IP address, which is not in use. The belkin router’s IP address must be in the same range as the main router.

Step 6: Go to apply changes and click on it. Go to wireless section and then select use as an access point.

Step 7: Now to setup belkin router as access point, take an ethernet wire and connect the access point to the main router by connecting both the ends of the wire to the LAN ports.

Step 8: Now, link your wireless devices to the new connection. This way you will be able to setup Belkin router as an access point.

Note: If you disable the router capabilities, then it will resolve the double NAT issues that you face at the time of connecting one router to another.

Method 2: Disabling the DHCP Server

This method can be used when there is no ‘Use as access point option’ in your router.

Step 1: Launch your internet browser for getting access to the internet based setup page to setup Belkin router as access point

Step 2: Go to wireless Channel and then SSID. After that, locate a unique Wi-Fi network name from the main router. For configuring the security of your network, go to wireless and then network. Please ensure that you are saving all the settings before proceeding to the next step.

Step 3: After you are done configuring wireless settings, move to the section of LAN setup and then select LAN settings.

Step 4: Enter the unique IP address, which has not been used before.

Step 5: For disabling the DHCP server, select off.
