Setup the Belkin WiFi Range Extender Wirelessly:

The Belkin WiFi Range Extenders are devices that serve as wireless signal repeaters for the router. They can be mounted without the use of cables or wires. The steps below will show you how to set up the Belkin WiFi Range Extender wirelessly.

Before you start, make sure you have the following factors:

  • A Belkin Wi-Fi Range Extender.
  • An existing Wi-Fi network and the network name (SSID) and wireless password of the wireless router.

QUICK TIP: Secure the SSID and wireless password of both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz network bands if you're using a dual-band router.

  • A device that can connect to the internet through WiFi (e.g., computer, tablet, smartphone).

NOTE: Depending on the wireless devices you're using, the troubleshooting steps and images can differ.

Step 1: Connect your range extender to a power outlet within your router's wireless network range.

Step 2: Locate and connect to the Belkin. Setup network using your Wi-Fi-capable computer.

NOTE: If you can't see this network, the range extender may need to be reset. Push the reset button on the range extender for at least 10 seconds when switched on to accomplish this. Connect to the network after powering down the range extender.

Before moving on to the next step, make sure your computer is connected to the Belkin. Setup network.

Step 3: To get started, open a browser and type "https://belkin.range" into the address bar, then tap Go.

NOTE: To access the range extender's web-based setup page, type "https://192.168.206.1" into the Address bar.

Step 4: Tap Get Started on the new page that appears.

It will look for the SSID of your router.

Step 5: Choose which wireless network you'd like to extend. When you're done, tap Next.

NOTE: If your network isn't listed, click Refresh.

Wait for the setup to establish a network connection.

Step 6: Enter your wireless network's password when asked, then tap Next. Wait for your password to be authenticated by the setup.

Step 7: If you have a dual-band network, repeat Step 6 for the second wireless network you choose to extend. When you're done, tap Next.

NOTE: A single-band Belkin WiFi Range Extender can detect only the 2.4 GHz band.

Step 8: Analyze the details on the Extended Network. If you need to alter something, tap Edit. Otherwise, continue with the setup by tapping the Create Extended Network button.

Your extender has now been set up. Your network settings will appear on the computer, and you will have the option to print them if necessary.
