But, if are already in the same premises then you can also opt to connect IP Camera to the Computer without a router which will help you do away with the need to spend money on the internet package.
This quick guide is here with a very simple solution that prescribes how you can connect IP Camera to the Computer without a router.
You can either use an expensive and high-resolution camera or a normal one as well for receiving the real-time feed from your IP Camera. In this context, the Samsung SNB-6004 or the Hikvision 4MP camera can also serve the purpose to connect IP Camera to the Computer without a router.
In an attempt to connect IP Camera to the Computer without a router, you must have a cable that is 100 Meters in length. Also, ensure that the cable belongs to the cat5e or cat6 standard for seamless transmission of feed from the IP Camera to the Computer.
The PoE Injector is simply the power source that sends power to the IP Camera using the network cable and helps you connect IP Camera to the Computer without a router.
Step 1 - You first have to ensure that your IP Camera is of 802.11af or 802.11at standard which will enable you to quickly connect IP Camera to the Computer without a router.
Step 2 - Just insert the cable that emanates from your IP Camera into PoE Injector’s “Data & Power Out” port which will facilitate the transmission of live feed from your IP Camera.
Step 3 - Moving on, with the help of another cable connect the “Data In” port to the Computer.
Step 1 - Make sure that your IP Camera and the Computer are in the same IP range. For this, just refer to the user manual of your IP Camera for ascertaining the default IP.
Step 2 - Now launch the “Control Panel” followed by going to the “Network and Internet” section. Inside the Network and Internet section just open the “Network Connections” segment.
Step 3 - Here at this point of time just review and match the IP address of your Computer and the IP Camera. For instance, if the IP of your Computer is 192.168.2.180 then your IP Camera must also have IP address like 192.168.2.X wherein X can assume any value from 1 to 254.
Step 4 - Finally, when you are sure that your IP Camera and the Computer are in the same IP Range, then you must click the “OK” button and check whether you can see the live coverage using the web browser login.
Step 1 - In a bid to connect IP Camera to the Computer without a router just open the updated internet browser.
Step 2 - Continue by entering the IP address of your camera which in return will prompt you to punch in the username and the password.
Step 3 - As soon as you enter the correct username and password you will start receiving the real-time feed.
