Hello folks! I want to setup Asus RT-56U router with TPG NBN modem. I just access the Asus router configuration page and run the wizard but an error message displays on the screen. To set up the TPG NBN modem, you need to follow the dialing procedure carefully. The process starts with switching on the modem and establishing the connection between the NBN connection box and the modem using an Ethernet cable.

Make sure the modem is properly connected to a power source, and click the "on" button on the modem. Now wait for about half an hour till the modem reboots itself and the connection is established properly.

For precise steps and procedures, you can consider seeking professional help by contacting the TV support team. You can also change the default settings and save them to apply the changed settings.

Follow these steps to setup TPG NBN modem -

  • Usually depending on  NBN connection type,
    a. If no NBN connection box installed, you have to connect router’s DSL port to phone wall socket.
    b. If NBN connection box is installed, you have to connect router’s WAN port to NBN connection box.
  • Next, you have to connect router’s Phone 1 port to telephone handset. Then connect router’s LAN port (4) to your PC. After this, you have to connect router’s power port to the power socket.
  • Wait for NBN activation -Once your NBN service is active, turn on Asus router and leave it as it is for 30 minutes. By doing this, your router will retrieve and save the settings from TPG to connect automatically. Once this process gets complete, router’s Internet light will turn into solid green.
  • Manually configure modem -
