The issue might be with your router, do not worry as I will list certain troubleshooting techniques to avoid the issue. Follow the instructions given below carefully to resolve the issue:
1. Reset Your HP Router: If even after numerous attempts the same issue arises i.e password being modified, the simplest yet effective idea is to reset your router.
Press the "Reset" button at the back of your router for 20-30 seconds.
Power it on after few minutes. The reset of the router will erase all the previous changes and hopefully the glitch causing the issue.
2. Access Your HP Router Settings Page: Once the Reset is done, connect your router to your computer using a LAN or ethernet cable.
Connect one end of the cable into the LAN or internet port of your router while the other end goes into your computer's ethernet port.
Wait for few minutes to let the connection stablize and open your web browser. Type your IP address into the given URL field and hit Enter.
3. Change Administration Settings: Once you are on the router settings page, log in to your account as admin. If you do not know your login details contact your ISP. Enter "admin" in the SSID field and leave the password field blank.
Once on the page go to your dashboard and look for "Administration" and change your router's username and password according to your choice.
Make sure to note down the password for further usage.
This is how to change the router settings for your HP router. Hopefully, your problem was resolved by going through these instructions.
In case you face any difficulty in understanding any part of the above-mentioned steps kindly revert back with your query and I will be glad to help.
