Methods to Change the Password on Arris Router

Method 1:- Change Password Through the Internet Browser

The following are the steps for this method.

Step 1: Go to any internet browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla, internet explorer, etc. After this visit on top of the page to address the bar. On that address bar type 192.168.0.1 and hit the enter button.

Step 2: Now sign in to the advanced page of the wifi mode. Fill the following details. 

• Name of the user: admin name (It should be in lowercase)
• Password: Type the passphrase written on the white sticker which is situated on the top of the wifi modem. (Remember that it is case sensitive)

Step 3: Open the wizard “start quick launch”. From this wizard choose option “wifi network management”.

Step 4: Put the password for your wifi network in the passphrase field.  If you wish to change the password of your 5GHz network then for this go to the option “alter the channel” and then select the network “5GHz”.

Step 5: Now save the changes by clicking on the “apply” button.

Step 6: Lastly reboot the modem. For this shut down your system, remove all the cables from the modem. Keep your modem like this for at least 2 minutes. Now plug in all the wire and let the system boot up.  

Hence your password will be changed. This is one of the best and easy method.

Note: With the help of a pin-hole option on the modem you can restore the default settings of the modem.

Method 2:- With the Help of Arris Router

To use this method to change the password follow the below-mentioned steps.

Step 1: Go to the browser window and log in to the arris router.

Step 2: Once you log-in to the web portal. Search for the “security settings” option. The field for which you are looking for will be labeled as  “pre-shared-key”.

Step 3: Choose the password for your wifi.

Things to Remember While Choosing the Password:

• Try not to use dictionary words.
• Use special character (@,#, etc) and number to make password strong.
• Try to use both types of character uppercase as well as lower case.

Step 4: Once you have set the password click on the “save” option. 

Step 5: Restart your system. Now login to your wifi modem using the new password.

Finally, your Arris password is changed. Enjoy your wifi with a new password securely.
