If you are wondering whether you can reset your Buffalo Linkstation password or not, then yes, you can. To reset the password, you will have to bring it back to the factory default settings. First, you have to turn off your link station and shut it down; now, turn on your link station with the help of the function button.
When the link station is fully turned on, it will blink the white light; when the LED light is flashing, click the function button. Now you can reset your IP address, Ethernet frame size, and admin password and username. The reset procedure of buffalo link stations is different for different models.
Step 1: Turn off your LinkStation by moving its switch downwards and wait for it to shut down.

Step 3: When the function LED starts flashing blue in color, press the button function one more time. This will begin the process of initialization. This is going to take 2-3 minutes. You will see amber light blinking at the time of initialization.
Step 4: Mentioned below are the settings that will get initialized. These include Ethernet frame size, IP address, admin password and admin username.
Step 1: Hold the button of power for three seconds for shutting down the LinkStation.
Step 2: Press the power button by pressing and holding the button of function. The function LED is going to turn blue for 60 seconds.
Step 3: If the function LED light is blinking blue in color. After that, press the function button. Then, the process of initialization is going to start. This process is going to take 2-3 minutes. After that, power LED light is going to blink amber at the time of initialization.
To take the LinkStation back to its factory default settings, then these are the instructions that you are required to follow.
Note: Please keep in mind that every setting will go back to the factory default mode. Information saved does not get erased.
Step 1: Go to settings and from there go to System and then Restore and Erase and then go to Restore Factory Defaults.
Step 2: After that, click on Restore LinkStation.
Step 3: Then, the screen of confirm operation will open up before you. After that, select the number displayed.
Step 4: The LinkStation that is going to get restored to the factory default settings.
