How to Setup Asus RT-AC68U Wireless Router

To set up an Asus RT- AC68U wireless router, you have to start from the basics, which is installation of an Asus RT- AC68U router which also includes primitive wireless setup and physical connectivity.

You also require 3 cables for attaining connection and now unlike other routers go through the same procedure which generally starts with establishing connection with modem ,WAN port and router with help of an ethernet cable.

Establish a connection of power cable to wall outlet and DCIN port and switch on the Asus RT-AC68U wireless router and open web browser. Then login to the router by using admin username and password, here initial set up page will open then click on Go button. Asus Router will spot wireless internet connection then type SSID as network name and network key as password.

Finally configure the changes you want to make and click on Ok button.

Few Steps to Setup ASUS RT-AC68U Router:

Step 1 : There are 3 cables that are required attaining connection:

• Establish the connection of an Ethernet cable from your cable/DSL modem with the WAN port on your ASUS RT-AC68U router; labeled with a globe having a ring around it (this port is blue).
• Establish the connection of another Ethernet cable from your computer to any one of the LAN ports on the router; named as 1, 2, 3, and 4 (these ports are yellow).
• Finally, establish the connection of the power cable to the wall outlet and to the DCIN port on the router (shown in green).
• Once all the connections are established, press & hold the power button on the backside of the router (shown in red).

Step 2 : Once the ASUS RT-AC68U Wireless router is switched on, open a web browser. The ASUS setup page may open instantly.

If so, graduate to step 4 of this guide. If not, enter 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and then press Enter.

Step 3 : If you are instructed to login to the ASUS router, type in admin as both the username and password, and then click OK.

Step 4 : The initial setup page opens, press the GO button.

Step 5 : Type in the required username and password for the ASUS router administrator in the respective boxes, and then right-click on Next.

It is highly advisable to change this from the preset username and password as this is the information that will be utilized to gain knowledge of the router’s administration configuration.

Step 6 : The ASUS RT-AC68U Wireless router will spot your internet connection. Depending on your connection configurations, extra details may be required to be typed in if needed by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

In most scenarios, the ASUS router will spot the connection instantly and then proceed.

Step 7 : Type in the required network name (SSID) and network key (password) into the relevant boxes, and then right0-click Apply.

Step 8 : An overview of settings will appear, displaying the new settings. Right-Click the Next button.

Step 9 : A login box will show up on screen.Type in the details that were typed in before in step 5 and right click OK.

Step 10 : The configurations page for the router will appear. Right Click the Logout button present at the top of the page to exit the router’s settings.

Step 11 : Right Click OK on the confirmation box to disappear. Installation is now finished.
