There is no doubt in saying that Belkin router can setup without modem. But dear friends, I don’t know what process should follow to set up Belkin router without using cable modem. Actually I don’t want to spend money to buy a cable modem.
When I tried to setup Belkin router using CD-ROM, my installation was failing again-n-again. So please guide me how to setup Belkin router without any cable or DSL modem. I hope someone will provide me appropriate answer.

Manually setting up Belkin Router
It is extremely easy to setup Belkin router without the modem. Belkin router is one of those routers that can be installed without the installation CD. Through Belkin router setup page, you can manually install Belkin router.
Step 1 - First of all, connect your computer to Belkin router by using the ethernet cable. Just keep one thing in your mind that you have to insert ethernet cable into the numbered ports of the router.
Step 2 - Next, launch an internet browser and type Belkin router’s IP address in the address bar and then press Enter key. As for your information, the default IP address of Belkin router is 192.168.2.1. If you face any difficulty in accessing this IP address then
Step 3 - On the Belkin router login page, click Login and leave the password field blank. Then click on Submit button. Now you are redirected to Belkin page.
Step 6 - You are now connected to the internet. To verify your connection status, check the “Internet Status” at the upper right corner. The internet status should be "connected".
Now, launch an internet browser and access your favorite website. Once you Belkin router has set up internet connection, you can configure specific settings as per your choice.
The login credentials will be -
Username- admin
Password – password (You can also leave the password field empty.)
