If you wish to set up your Mikrotik wifi router in repeater mode, then here are a few ways to do that. To start the process, you will need the password of the wifi router and all the other necessary information. Firstly, go to the menu and choose the wireless option, then enable WLAN1, and double-click to open the settings.

You have to now choose the station pseudo bridge wireless mode, then press the scan button to look for the nearby wireless available networks, choose your wireless network and connect, and close the window once you are done connecting. You have to create a wifi security profile and check the Mikrotik repeater connection status. 

How to Set up Your MikroTik Router as a Repeater? 

In order to connect to repeater mode from your MikroTik router, you need the password of your main Wi-Fi router. If you have the necessary information, then you must go ahead with the configuration process. 

Step 1: First of all, go to the left side menu and then click on Wireless. 

Step 2: After that, you need to click on and enable WLAN 1. After that, open Settings by double-clicking on it. 

Step 3: Then, you are required to select the Station pseudobridge wireless mode. 

Step 4: Click on the scan button to search for nearby wireless networks. 

Step 5: Select the name of your wireless network from the list and then click on the Connect button. 

Step 6: Now, close the window after clicking on connect. 

After that, make a security profile to apply the wireless password to connect it to the host Wi-Fi name.

Create a Wi-Fi Security Profile in MikroTik Router

Go to the Wireless option and then click on the Security Profile tab. Click on the Plus button and then add a new profile.  Then, you are required to choose the authentication type and enter the password of your Wi-Fi password.

After that, you need to confirm the WPA 2 pre-shared key. Click on the Ok button to save the settings. After that, go to wireless and then click on security profile. Then, go to the interface and then open WLAN1. 

How to Check MikroTik Repeater Connection Status? 

To check the connection status of your MikroTik wireless repeater with the main Wi-Fi router, you need to first go to the registration tab and then check signal Rx and Tx status. If your MikroTik repeater is connected to the host Wi-Fi. 

How to Add Virtual WLAN Interface? 

Add virtual AP to create an extended wireless network to repeat the Wi-Fi signal.

Below are the steps that you need to follow to add a virtual WLAN interface. 

Step 1: First of all, go to the wireless option. 

Step 2: After that, you need to press the Plus button arrow key. Then, you need to choose the Virtual option. 

Step 3: Then, you need to choose the AP Bridge mode. 

Step 4: then, you need to give a name to your repeater signal. Here, you can create the same password as the host Wi-Fi router. You need to create a new security profile if you wish to use a different password for your Wi-Fi repeater.
