Here I also explain the details about how can we change the wireless channel and security mode.

Connected the Device:

Step 1 : Connect Ethernet cable with your computer which is yellow LAN ports of the Tenda device.

Step 2 : Confirm that the light corresponding to the LAN ports where the Ethernet cable is attached to is lit. If you find it is lit, then you may continue with the next method. Or try to connect your computer to other yellow LAN port or switch with other Ethernet cable.

Note: Here you can find only one LAN or LAN/WAN port on some devices like A5/A6/A3/A30/N3/3G150B/PW201A, etc. You only have to log in to the setup page wirelessly for A5 and 3G186R.

Login to the Web-Based Setup Page:

Discover the login IP address on the tag situated on the back of the Tenda device, and enter the IP address in the address bar of a web browser. Type the login username and password if requested, there is always “Admin” for both username and password. And if you want to change the login IP address or password, then login with a new IP address and password.

Note: It is only for A5 and 3G186R, and you can only login into the setup page wirelessly.

Change the Security Mode:

It is best to use WPA or WPA2 personal as wireless security modes, comparison to other security modes. It will set up a more stable connection with your wireless device, mainly with the latest technology.

Step 1: Tap on Advanced settings/Advanced promptly after logging in to set up page.

Step 2: Click on Wireless settings/WLAN settings/Wireless from the main menu.

Step 3: Click on Wireless Security/Security Settings/Security from the menu bar, directly open a page related to the one below.

Step 4: Find the Security Mode and here you can change the security mode. With a Tenda device, you can select WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, Mixed WPA/WPA2-PSK, WPA Personal, WPA2 Personal or Mixed WPA-WPA2 Personal.

Note: I suggest you choose AES as the WPA- Algorithms/Cypher Type/WPA Encryption. In some cases, the wireless security mode of the Tenda device is not consistent with your wireless device. It is mostly for older devices and Vista computers. Secure your Wifi with access control, when you disabled the security mode.
