A lot of times, we face problems regarding multiple devices connected to your wifi network without your permission. To fix this issue, you need to secure your tender router. To secure the router, you need to check the security key. You can do so by entering the IP address on your web browser, and you will have access to the connection setup screen.
After that, you will see a security key where you will have to enter a password after changing the password and altering the security key content by clicking on the "ok" button. You can also try setting a name and password for your wireless network.
Securing your TENDA router should be your primary concern at the time of connection itself. There are multiple ways to make your Tenda router safe and secure against any kind of hacking and unethical use. I will discuss in detail on how to resolve this issue so carefully follow the instructions.
Step 1: Connect your Tenda router to the computer using an ethernet cable. One end of the cable goes inside the internet port of your router while the other end goes into the ethernet port of your computer.
Wait for a few minutes to let the connection between the two systems establish.
Step 2: Open your web browser type in your IP address in the URL field and hit Enter. In case you do not know your IP address, simply Google, "My IP address" or "Tenda router default IP address" and you can copy that in the URL field.
This will take you to the login portal of your Tenda router.
Step 3: Once on the login portal, fill in your login credentials in the given box provided by your Internet Service Provider. In case your service provider did not give you a username or password then fill in the default ones.
The default username is "admin" and leave the password field blank and hit enter.
Step 4: Once on the main settings page, go to "Advanced Settings" > "Security". Here, you will need to make some changes to secure your Tenda router.
First, change the encryption type to "WPA2" from the top as it is considered to be a government-grade encryption method and very difficult to crack.
Step 5: Below the encryption box, you will notice a box for "Passkey", this is your wifi password, change it to a secure password by using a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and numerals.
Note this password in case you forget it. Save the settings.
Step 6: To make the security even better you can make use of the "MAC Address Filter", Mac addresses are the permanent addresses of hardware and every device has a unique one.
So in case you want only a certain number of known devices to get access to your Tenda router then, add the MAC address of these devices here and save the settings. Now only those devices whose MAC address has been added can use your router.
